WUDANG TAO

- Ecstatic Zouk Night -

“Wudang Tao” was an ecstatic zouk evening focused not on technique, but on sensation, music, and connection with another person. The calm and minimalist atmosphere of the studio naturally complemented the mood of the event.

Ecstatic zouk is an interpretation of Brazilian zouk adapted to a wide variety of music and improvisation. There is no strict zouk structure or set of rules here — what matters most is the feeling of zouk itself: flow, waves, flight, rhythm, and natural movement. It is a space to dance both alone and with others, spontaneously responding to the music and the moment.

During the first part of the evening, participants explore zouk movement and its foundations through different movement practices and guided exercises. The practice is open to everyone — both experienced dancers and complete beginners. The focus is not on perfect steps, but on the ability to relax, listen to the music, and create connection through movement.

The second part becomes a musical journey, carrying people like a wave through different rhythms and atmospheres. People move freely alone or together with others — dancing zouk, improvising, rolling on the floor, resting, or spending time in the tea space. Here, the style or form of the dance is not important — what matters is allowing the body to move freely in whatever way feels natural in the moment.
